During Spring Break the Kitimat Museum & Archives offers fun, educational programming for kids ages 3 to 9. With March being Multicultural Month in Kitimat, the programs focus on learning about the cultures of different cultures.

Programs will run from March 17th to 28th, 2025

These fun and educational programs are always a big hit.  Kids ages 3 to 9 will enjoy spending time and learning with age-appropriate peers. Each day is a new program; sign up for one program – or sign up for several.

Registration opens Tuesday, March 4th at 10am on a first-come-first-serve basis at the front desk.

The cost of each program is $7.00, or $5.95 with a family membership.

 

2025 Programming

March 17 - Ireland – St. Patrick’s Shamrock Hunt

  • Learn about, create, and find some Irish Shamrocks, and maybe even a tricky Leprechaun?! Remember to wear green!

March 18 - First Nations – Cedar

  • Let’s explore indigenous cedar culture and crafts and try our hand at weaving.

March 19 - South Korea – Bibimbap Bowls

  • Learn about tasty Korean food culture and construct your own Bibimbap bowl art piece.

March 20 - Colombia – Colombian Coffee Café

  • Relax in a Colombian café and enjoy the scent of coffee with a fun coffee craft!

March 21 - Tasmania – Who is the Purinina?

  • Join the search for Tasmania’s Purinina, AKA the Tasmanian Devil! Remember the day with a painting of this fascinating beast!

March 24 - Nigeria – Dance! Dance!

  • Explore Nigerian dance expression and create your own dancing dolls.

March 25 - Turkey – Teatime and Cats

  • Gather round for Turkish tea with some furry friends and build your own tea set. Have your own cat plush? Bring it! The more, the merrier!

March 26 - Denmark – Where to Find a Mermaid?

  • Learn about the origins of everyone’s favourite mermaid and maybe find a mermaid too?! Feel inspired and create your own mermaid fairytale book!

March 27 - Brazil – Amazing Amazon Frogs!

  • Frogs, Frogs, Frogs! Brazil is full of them! Let’s see how many we can discover and make your own lucky frog amulet.

March 28 - Japan – Omatsuri Festival

  • Create your own festival mask and join a Japanese festival filled with Food, games, and real prizes!
