“The Scream of the Forest”, Robin Rowland Photography
January 10, 2020, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Join the Kitimat Museum & Archives in the Upstairs Gallery for the opening reception of Robin Rowland’s Photography Exhibition, “The Scream of the Forest”, on January 10, 2020, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served and the artist will be in attendance.
A few years ago, Robin Rowland noticed a knot on an old stump that bore a remarkable resemblance to Edward Munch’s famous paintings collectively known as “The Scream.”
Since then he has been photographing the old knot in all four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall, and in all weather conditions, rain, snow, mist, and summer sun.
Rowland states, “As the world hurtles toward climate catastrophe, species extinction and destruction of biodiversity, the trees and plants have no voice in the polarized political debates—but make no mistake the forest IS screaming.”
The Scream of the Forest will run from January 10 to February 29, 2020 at the Kitimat Museum & Archives.
