Yingna Wang: ‘Portraits’

The Art of Yingna Wang opens April 11, 2025; Portraits will be on view in the Upstairs Gallery.

Yingna Wang presents a series of soft, expressive pastel works, focusing mainly on portraits with a few nature scenes. Her art is grounded in emotion and connection, using subtle expressions and flowing lines to convey a quiet sense of peace and reflection.

“As you look at my work,” she says, “I hope you can feel what I feel. In that moment, we’re connected.”

This exhibition runs through May 10, 2025.

There is no opening reception for this event.

Artist Bio

I’m Yingna, and I love creating art. Working with pastel brings me a sense of peace, relaxation, and joy. Most of my works are portraits, though I sometimes use other subjects like flowers, birds, and landscapes.

I’m especially drawn to portraits because facial expressions create an emotional connection between me and the artwork. Emotions are a fascinating force – they link people together, whether they are close or strangers. They express the joys and sorrows of life. When you take the time to reflect on emotions, you receive everything they have to offer.

I hope that when you look at my art, you can feel everything I wish to convey. In that moment, we are connected.
