2023 Kitimat Quilters Guild Show

We are excited to invite you to visit the 2023 Show and Sale by the Kitimat Quilter’s Guild at the Kitimat Museum & Archives June 16 to July 22, 2023.  The exhibition will open with an evening reception Friday, June 16th at 7:30 p.m. We will be serving refreshments, and everyone is welcome.

Come see the array of colourfully patterned quilts filling the Upstairs Gallery of the Museum. Historically, quilting was an ancient method that involved stitching together layers of fabric to make clothing and bedding for protection and warmth. Today, quilting has evolved into a creative pastime with artisans implementing innovative techniques to create fabric masterpieces such as those you see on display.

About the Guild

The Kitimat Quilter’s Guild is a small non-profit group who meet once a month for personal projects and community work. Guild member skills range from beginner to expert, and everyone enjoys getting together to exchange ideas, learn from each other, help problem solve on projects and socialize.  The Guild creates quilts to donate to community members who have suffered traumatic experiences such as house fires. Quilts are also donated to multi-level care and to the last baby born of the year. The Kitimat Quilter’s Guild is a supportive group of like-minded people who get together to have fun quilting and welcome new members.
