Serving Community Heritage, Arts and Culture
Open year-round, admission by donation
In consideration of the health, safety and well-being of our staff, visitors and fellow community members, the Kitimat Museum & Archives will be closed to the public until further notice starting March 18th.
This is a precautionary measure to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to support the Province-wide efforts to reduce the spread of this virus.
Museum staff will continue to be available via e-mail to answer any questions that you may have.
The Museum appreciates your support and understanding during this time.
Kitimat was the place to be in North America in the 1950's. The massive Alcan project in the northwest British Columbia was completed in just five years - dam, tunnel, powerhouse, Kemano, transmission line, smelter, and Kitimat.
