Permanent exhibitions on display:

City of TomorrowKitimat: City of Tomorrow tells the story of the Kitimat – Kemano Power Project, the aluminum smelter set up in the 1950s in Northwest BC and the formation of the town of Kitimat.  Also featured is the story of the riverboat Delta King – an American riverboat sent to Canada for a time to serve as Alcan’s crew quarters during Kitimat’s construction years, 1952 to 1959.

Woodland and Kitimat River Estuary Wildlife presents the wildlife in the Kitimat Valley area.Ammonite

Ancient Valley explores the fossil remains of the Kitimat Valley and Northwest region dating back millions of years when the Pacific Ocean extended inland to Copper River, east of Terrace.

Settling the Valley relates settlement and other early human activities in the Kitimat Valley (1790s – 1940s), including the period of the Kitamaat Methodist Mission.

KioskHaisla First Nation arts and technology is featured through artifacts on display including bentwood boxes, basketry, stone tools, and eulachon fishery materials.  The Museum also has a permanent collection of contemporary artwork by Haisla and Henaaksiala artists.

Kitimat's interpretive heritage signage features four circle tour walkway and five viewpoint signs highlighting the history, and the built and natural environment of Kitimat and area – a joint project with the District of Kitimat.  Come to the Museum for circle tour brochures for Kildala, Whitesail, Haisla Hill, and Nechako.
